Super Search Engine Optimisation!

Hi all. The site has now got some serious Search Engine Optimisation. We now have first page search results on Google for searches on rent, item and area, if such an ad exists on the site. This is giving us 100s of page views per day from Google with still only a small number of ads smile emoticon. For example searching for "rent horsebox rathfarnham" is #1 on Google. Similarly "rent ladder Straffan" gives us #1. "rent trailer Maynooth" also gives us #1 We're chuffed with that! smile emoticon So if you are serious about renting something out, please put an ad on the site for maximum exposure on Google. Thanks!

There are some really good articles on the sharing economy on the internet.I especially like the one below from the Guardian. It describes some of the many websites in the UK that are capitalising on the sharing economy like RentMyItems.com, ParkAtMyHouse.com, StoreNextDoor.com etc. as well as giving examples of people using them effectively.Ireland is a very small economy, so we hope that RentMyStuff.ie will become the number one website for all such renting requirements in the country. The Guardian, 8th June, 2013Rent out your spare items - from bikes to barbecues by Jill Papworth. The Journal.ie, 29th May, 2014Opinion: Ireland needs to capitalise on the sharing economy by Katie RocheThis is a really good resource, a blog by Ken Finnegan, Chief Technologist at the IDA. We even get a mention on there for which we are very grateful. Check it out: http://www.kenfinnegan.com/blogPlease let us know of any other articles you find.

How many us have items gathering dust in our cupboards and closets that we need, but rarely use?For example, I have a drill that I haven't used in two years in a closet. I also have two airbeds, a belt sander, a rucksack, two fancy dress costumes, two large suitcases, two smartphones, a netbook, and heaps of other stuff. If I was to rent all of this stuff out on www.rentmystuff.ie, I could be making a nice bit of cash instead of leaving it to gather dust. There are many things that we have that we could rent out to others and earn money. Here is a few ideas to help you get started:The parking space in front of your house, or the one in your apartment building that you don't use.Your printer (I have been caught out so many times needing to print airline boarding passes at short notice).A garage, garden shed, or barn that could be used for storage.Any power tools or ladders. Your lawnmower.A baby's pram or buggy that might not be needed for another year or two. That spare room in your house.Your bicycle.Your car, or a trailer.Your broadband via Wifi.Your garden or a piece of land as an allotment.Maybe you could rent your house, or church, or school as a film set, or how about something unique that could be used as a set prop. You may even consider starting your own rental business on www.rentmystuff.ie.Please keep us posted with any other ideas you may have, and let us know how you get on.
